A quality product that looks great and functions nicely. I sent photos and dimensions of my fireplace opening with the order and the factory modified the plates a bit to insure a good fit over and around the opening. Instructions were easy to follow. My only complaint is that not enough insulation was provided, but you can use any mineral wool type insulation from stores like Home Depot. Be advised that if you have a standard sized brick fireplace, the install should be much simpler than it was for my custom stone fireplace. I had to drill a couple of holes, modify the connection hardware and add some thicker insulation to insure a proper seal . The doors are heavy and you mighr consider removing before the install. They are a bit tricky to re-install and adjust. It took a few hours but well worth the time. Our fireplace doors arrived quickly and well packed. They were easy to install- we watched the video linked on the instructions. I do wish the upper bracket that holds the frame to the fireplace was a bit longer (the part where the bolt screws in) because the inside of our fireplace is bent on one side which kept the bracket from fitting correctly. More length would have allowed us to get above the bend. This isn’t an issue with the fireplace door design, but a problem with our fireplace. We did do a work around which we think will hold. Overall, I love the doors. They open and close well, look nice and they definitely have lessened the air flow coming from the fireplace opening. Exactly what we were hoping for! Build quality is fantastic and dimensions are exactly as ordered. We ordered in "Matte Black" which perfectly matches all our other powder coated metals in our home. The mounting is really easy to do but be aware that most fireplace inserts have a large hollow space above them with nothing to mount to so you'll have to find the header. On ours, per fireplace specs, that was 21" above the opening. I did use my own hardware as standard phillips head screws don't compare to modern designs. Previously I had an Exceptional Fire 89" steel mantel centered over the fireplace. Then I bought a 100" TV that was wider than the fireplace (my wife was not happy). So I decided that the best remedy was to center the TV across the whole wall which meant I needed a 35" extension mantel to add to the 89" I already had on the wall. It's hard to tell from the dim lighting in the photo, but it looks like a seamless piece thanks to two strategically placed wrap-around brackets. I also have another 76" Exceptional Fire steel mantel on the other side of the 2 sided fireplace that looks great. Installation instructions were confusing. I went by the online instructions of minimum distance and recommended distance from fireplace. It looks great when installed. I also had to replace the screws as as much as I tried the heads stripped. I pre- drilled the holes. After 20 years, we took out the insert in our fireplace. My husband and I wanted a secure screen/door that covered some of our brick (hubby has already put a whole in a living room chair!!!). Our fireplace is very high, cathedral ceiling, so we wanted a bigger size than we were finding online until we found Exceptional Fire. We choose to do a custom size screen/door. The floating mantel, 58x8x4, arrived early, was very well packaged, and reasoinably easy for my wife and I to install.
